Γιώργος Σαμαντάς

Ο Γιώργος Σαμαντάς είναι ανθρωπολόγος με ειδίκευση στον ήχο. Ασχολείται με την πόλη, το περιβάλλον, τη φωνή και την τέχνη και έχει εργαστεί ως sound designer και ηχολήπτης πεδίου, επιστημονικός επιμελητής στο ραδιόφωνο και dj. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε συνέδρια, εκθέσεις και φεστιβάλ στην Ελλάδα και στο εξωτερικό, ατομικά και με την ομάδα akoo-o, της οποίας είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος. Συμμετέχει επίσης στο twixtlab, στο ερευνητικό πρόγραμμα “learning from documenta” και υπήρξε στο παρελθόν μέλος της καλλιτεχνικής και ερευνητικής ομάδας «Φωνές».

Giorgos Samantas is an anthropologist specializing in sound. He is engaged in urban studies and the environment, voice and art, and has worked as a sound designer, field-recordist, scientific editor for the radio, and a dj. He has participated in conferences, exhibitions and festivals in Greece and abroad, solo or with his group akoo-o, in which he is a founding member. He is participating in TWIXTlab, in the research project “learning form documenta” and has been a member of “Fones” group of visual artists and social scientists.
